The nominations for the Pioneer Audience Award for Best Programme of 2005 at this year's British Academy Television Awards were selected by a panel of TV industry experts including journalists, presenters and producers. Through a process of debate and elimination the extensive list of fantastic television programming from 2005 was whittled down to 8 shows which, in the panel's opinion, are amongst the best shows of 2005.
