“Great Expectations” (2012, PBS, unrated) - The Dickens’ classic is a ripping yarn that’s served as film fodder for years, even inspiring a modern-day remake starring Ethan Hawke in 1998. Now comes a superb 2012 Masterpiece Theater installment featuring Douglas Booth as Pip, an impoverished young man whose eventful life includes run-ins with anonymous benefactors, convicts, rogues and rakes.
